Delete your NearbyPlay account

You can delete your NearbyPlay account at any time. This page explains how to initiate deletion, the 45-day grace period that lets you reverse the decision, and what data is permanently deleted versus retained for legal compliance.

How to delete your account in the app

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the NearbyPlay mobile app:

  1. Open the NearbyPlay mobile app on your Android or iOS device
  2. Tap the Profile tab (bottom-right)
  3. Under the Settings section
  4. Scroll down and tap Delete Account
  5. (Optional) Provide a reason for deletion. This helps us improve the product
  6. Confirm the deletion. Your account moves into a 45-day grace period.

The 45-day grace period

When you initiate deletion, your account is immediately marked for deletion but data is not yet erased. During the 45-day grace period:

After 45 days, deletion is permanent. Your account and the data described below are erased and cannot be recovered. We will send a final notification before permanent deletion when feasible.

If you are a sole community owner or admin

If you are the only owner or admin of one or more communities, deletion requires an additional step. During the grace period, you may be prompted to transfer community ownership to another member. If no transfer is completed:
